Is it just picky eating? Or is it something more? When a child is not eating enough to support growth and development, or when a very limited range of foods starts to impact health over time, picky eating deserves closer attention. This resource is designed to help you understand why your child may be struggling with food, when it might be time to be concerned, and where to go from here.

A few years ago, the kids on my street would come over to play, but many of them couldn’t eat the food I offered. Sometimes not even bread or fruit. At the time, I was studying to become a Dietitian, passionate about nutrition and healthy eating... but it didn't matter what I did... I couldn't get them to eat!?
Eventually I came to realise that what I was seeing wasn’t just kids being picky eaters. They were having a different sensory experience. They genuinely had a hard time with the appearance, smell, and texture of food. And I didn’t know how to help...
After doing a lot of further (and continuing!) education, I have discovered that there is a way to support these kids, and the importance of creating an environment where they enjoy trying new foods. I have trained in feeding therapy and have been helping families in their homes using low-pressure experiences to expand their child's list of accepted foods.
I hope that this free resource helps you to identify why your child may be having a hard time with food, and helps to give you some direction in getting them the help and support they deserve.
