Through years of supporting autistic and neurodivergent children and their families, I’ve seen that progress is possible. With the right approach, kids can feel safe enough to explore and enjoy new foods, and parents can finally relax at the table, confident they are supporting their child in the best way possible. Now, I’m passionate about guiding parents on this journey. As an Accredited Practising Dietitian and feeding therapist, I combine professional expertise with real-world experience in homes like yours, helping families move from daily battles to making meaningful progress with food.
In the early days of my work, it saddened me to see children that didn’t enjoy food, and that mealtimes had become full of stress and worry for parents, instead of the quality family time it should have been. I worried about their health, their growth, and their futures.
The turning point came when I learned how to use feeding therapy tools and began applying them with the children I worked with. What happened was extraordinary: kids who once avoided the table started joining in, exploring food at their own pace, and even working toward their own exposure goals to overcome a dislike for a particular food. For the first time, I saw what was possible when we focused on making changes to the relationship and feeding environment.
That experience changed everything for me. I realised that children can make progress when they are supported in the right way, and that parents can feel confident in their approach, and enjoy mealtimes with their child again.
